Stop Smoking

Stop smoking hypnotherapy programme in Larbert, near Falkirk, Stirling, in Central Scotland

People may smoke for all sorts of reasons. Stress, social habits or just sheer enjoyment can all have people reaching for the ciggies. Smoking can start out as a normal part of a night out when you’re younger but leave you with a serious addiction to nicotine later. Stop smoking hypnotherapy could be the cure you are looking for.

As a former smoker myself I only know too well how hard it is to stop smoking. Every smoker has their own methods that they use when trying to quit. These may include NRT (nicotine replacement therapy) such as patches, inhalers, drugs like Champix, or even just good old-fashioned going ‘cold turkey’. Sometimes these methods work for people and sometimes they don’t. If you really want to quit but still find yourself asking “I have tried everything to stop smoking, what else can I do?”. Perhaps trying hypnotherapy could be the answer to your problem. Hypnotherapy is a wonderful tool that can be used to deal with a number of issues, including helping you to stop smoking.

Motivation to stop is of the utmost importance when using hypnotherapy to stop smoking. You need to really want to kick the habit. If you are not motivated and deep down you don’t really want to stop, then no therapy or other method is going to help.

In health psychology there is a social-cognitive model called the health belief model which explains why people engage in unhealthy behaviors and what affects their decision-making process when they decide to stop doing something.

The benefits of stopping smoking vary from smoker to smoker but the most common are:

  • Cost
Smoking is expensive so the money saved can be put to better use.
  • Health
People want to improve their general health and reduce the chances of smoking-related illnesses such as cancer.
  • Appearance
Smokers tend to look older than non-smokers as smoking makes the skin age quicker.
  • Acceptance
Smoking’s image has become more anti-social, particularly now that smokers have to leave bars or restaurants to have a cigarette.

How can hypnotherapy help you to stop smoking?

Hypnotherapy is proven to be effective as it can work with underlying impulses, weakening the desire to smoke and strengthening the will to stop. A study published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis shows that hypnotherapy can be useful and effective as a method of smoking cessation. Out of 81% of people who stopped smoking, 48% reported abstinence one year post-treatment.

How can I help you to stop smoking? A stop smoking hypnotherapy programme

I offer a 2 session stop smoking programme (with a free follow up session if needed).

The first session is the most important session of the programme and it usually takes twice as long as a regular hypnotherapy session. For this reason it costs twice as much as a regular hypnotherapy session. I take a detailed questionnaire about your smoking history as well as your motivation and reasons for stopping. It will aslo help me to determine the triggers for your smoking. We then we conduct the session which will be tailored to your circumstances. I will also give you a hypnotherapy MP3 recording (value £10) to have at home with you which will supplement the session and work we did together.

Many smokers stop smoking after this first session but I suggest that you have another follow up session in order to reaffirm the work we already did (included in the price).  This session will also help should you experience any withdrawals (not all smokers do).  And then if needed, you can have a free top up session within the 6 months after that.

Become a non-smoker!

(Not just a smoker who is courageously resisting cigarettes).

Everyone knows someone who has quit smoking but still says they’d like one with a drink, or after a meal.

And what a terrible place that is to be. Having to deny yourself something you want all the time.

That’s why I use an approach that helps you become a true non-smoker, not just someone who is resisting smoking.

The ‘stopped smoker’ courageously resists having a cigarette, while the non-smoker couldn’t think of anything worse than smoking.

That’s if they give it a thought at all. It just becomes irrelevant to them.

My approach to smoking cessation hypnotherapy changes the subconscious mind of a smoker to an effortless non-smoker.

The techniques I use address every single psychological trick that smoking addiction plays on you and frees you from its grip.

Stop smoking hypnotherapy programme with me will gently move your mind from its current addicted state to complete freedom from cigarettes.

No longer will you be controlled by the need to smoke: No more planning your day so you can smoke, no more running outside at work or at parties, no more worrying whether you have enough cigarettes left. No more stressing about what smoking is doing to your health.

Contact me now and I’ll send you a free eBook called ‘Get Ready to Quit’  which will help you prepare in a way that will make quitting smoker much easier than you could ever have imagined.

I will also give you a ‘Stop Smoking’ hypnotherapy MP3 to have at home with you (value £10.00) which will support you in the process of becoming a non-smoker.
