Online Therapy

What is online therapy?

Online therapy is exactly what you think it is. It’s a way for a therapist (such as a psychotherapist or hypnotherapist – both of which I am) to meet and work with clients through the internet. It can be a safe environment with the same level of confidentiality and privacy that is offered by traditional face-to-face therapy.

I provide therapy via a video call, which is the type of communication that is most similar to face-to-face therapy. You can use your computer, laptop or even your phone or other device. I use either Zoom or VSee, which both have free versions, are easy to install and are secure and easy to use. The reason why I don’t use Skype for these purposes is that my professional governing body (The UK Council for Psychotherapy) doesn’t consider it secure enough and client confidentiality is key.
