Who am I?

Hello, my name is Slavka Craig and I’m an integrative  psychotherapist based in Larbert, near Falkirk and Stirling. I provide a range of therapies, across hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and shamanic therapy.  Our mind, body and spirit are not separate but are connected and work in unison together. So I offer integrative therapy for mental, physical and spiritual well being.

I am also an AXA, Vitality and Aviva-recognised psychotherapist.
I am friendly, down to earth and will assess your needs based on you and the issues you want to work on.

How can you feel confident about choosing Hypnolight?

I have over 16 years of experience of working in the fields of mental health and social care. During my time working in these areas, I have studied extensively to improve my knowledge. I have a first-class degree in Psychology and a postgraduate certificate in Occupational Psychology.

On the therapeutic front, I have a diploma with merit in Analytical Hypnotherapy and I have studied for a postgraduate diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy, a form of therapy that combines psychology, hypnosis and psychotherapy. I also hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy, at a Master’s level. I am trained across different therapeutic modalities, which enables me to tailor therapy to my clients’  individual needs.
You can read more about hypno-psychotherapy here.

I completed the full accreditation process with UKCP (The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) as a psychotherapist . This is a lengthy and comprehensive process that requires hundreds of completed psychotherapy client hours. As such, I undertake regular supervision with an experienced psychologist/hypno-psychotherapist to ensure I provide you with the best service I can and keep up to date with any developments in the field. I also had to complete my own psychotherapy and deal with my own issues. So I know what it is like to be on the receiving end of therapy. I never do anything with my clients that I have not experienced myself. I think this is vital both for congruence and compassion that are both important in the therapeutic relationship.

I have a special therapeutic and research interest in the treatment of trauma, PTSD,  complex PTSD, childhood sexual abuse (CSA), religious trauma as well as post-traumatic growth and resilience.

I’m also a trained Shamanic Practitioner, having trained in the method of psychotherapist Sandra Ingerman. Shamanic Therapy is a term that can put some people off but it can complement both hypnotherapy and psychotherapy really well. It is rooted in the ancient wisdom of our ancestors who knew how to heal traumas, pains and illnesses naturally as they were naturally attuned to and closely connected to their land and environment.

Something you may have heard about hypnotherapy is that – although it can be very effective – it is not regulated. Membership of professional bodies such as the CNHC (Complementary National Healthcare Council) are voluntary. This means that the level of training among hypnotherapists can vary greatly. Because of this, the NHS website ( https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hypnotherapy/ ) currently recommends finding a hypnotherapist with a healthcare background, such as a doctor, psychologist or counsellor.

I mention my qualifications so that you can feel confident about my competence to provide you with the support you need. You can also read a full list of my qualifications.
